Fierce competition for top scores on placement exams.... doesn't that remind us of SATs? Are we doing similar things, creating pressure for our young people?
I think that while there is incredible pressure on young people, it still doesn't compare to the pressure that has been placed on students in China. Maybe this is just that we are behind, and eventually something that we will catch up with.
Is a culture of answer one without thought? We pride ourselves as Americans as thinkers of "outside the box," but innovation and creativity is coming from China at an equivalent or even faster rate than the US is producing.
